Kid On The Radio

Kid On The Radio portrait

Biography

As a 90's kid raised on FM frequencies, Kid On The Radio spent his youth calling into radio stations, making dedications, listening to old vinyl records and escaping into the crackle of the airwaves.

As a kid, he played cover songs on his Roland E-15 keyboard workstation at local shopping centres and bars - collecting tips from generous adults while honing his craft.

After studying music production and broadcasting, he almost broke through as part of the organic synth pop outfit, Membership, blending synth textures with world music influences. Their 2013 album Northern Wind was released via Universal Music Germany, but despite its originality, it struggled to find a place in the contemporary scene - perhaps too diverse, lacking a cohesive sound, and without the modern pop production flair radio stations sought at the time.

Following a long music hiatus to focus on life's necessities, Kid On The Radio returned in 2024. No longer a kid, but still a kid at heart, he channels his lifelong love for 80s and 90s synth pop with renewed passion.

Blending shimmering synths, uplifting vocals, and cinematic textures, Kid On The Radio creates vibrant, emotional soundscapes - pop music that reflects times past but combines an aesthetic and production approach that holds its ground and pushes boundaries today.

For fans of retro-future melodies, heartfelt hooks, and timeless synth-driven stories.
